Classic Ford Show 2016 - Santa Pod Raceway

The annual Classic Ford show is always a big event in the retro Ford owner’s calendar. Held at Santa Pod Raceway, 2016 was another well attended year with some special displays. 2016 marked the 30th anniversary of the first Series 2 RS Turbo rolling off the production line, so a display of standard, concours and modified examples were on show, as well as demonstrations from the Fireforce Jet Car and classic ford drag cars. The retail village (as the trade stand area is known) housed a reasonable auto jumble and plenty of specialist Ford part vendors. There were plenty of static displays to drool over including the Show and shine, classic ford mag display and a whole host of club stands displaying a good mix of Mk1 and Mk2 Fiestas. A competition offered visitors the chance to win a 2007 Focus ST and an award for best wheels netted the winner a wheel whores trophy and £60 goody bag.

If you wanted to get involved yourself, the usual RWYB (‘Run What Ya Brung’) offered you the chance to try out your car’s 0-60. If you fancied something a bit different, you could try out one of the drift trikes in the dedicated drift paddock area, or fire an assault rifle at the four lane mobile range.
