Mk1 Ford Fiesta Kingfisher Model Info (December 1978)
The Mk1 Ford Fiesta kingfisher was a special edition released in December 1978. 2500 models were produced in either Strato silver, Cosmos blue, or a two tone combination of both colours (upper Cosmos /lower Strato).
The kingfisher was based on the L spec model with some additions including a screened glass sunroof, remote control drivers mirror, head restraints, bodyside mouldings, halogen headlights and a graded band tinted/laminated windscreen.
This Fiesta also came equipped with 4 1/2" rims wheels with embelishers, a Ford MW/LW push button radio, intermittent wipe and electronic screenwash, reclining seats finished in blue/Verons/Crushed velour trim, a centre cosnole with clock, 4 spoke steering wheel, both drivers and passengers vanity mirrors, a lockable load compartment floor and a tailgate turn lock.
The single tone colour version did not feature the glass sunroof, drivers remote control mirror or head restraints as standard, they were available as a special option pack at extra cost.
