Leyburn Classic Ford Meet September 2016

Held on the 4th of September 2016, the Classic Ford Meet at Tennants Auctioneers in Leyburn saw a smaller turn out to the previous show in April, more than likely due to the colder weather. Having said that, some great cars were on display including a former Graham Goode, Listerine liveried Sierra RS500 touring car.

The venue is a big improvement over the former Leeming Lodge site and gave an excellent backdrop. Several Mk3 Capri's caught our eye (maybe a none Fiesta will be appearing in the stable one day), but Fiesta's were a bit thin on the ground this time. A pair of clean Sunburst red Mk1 XR2's did represent Ford's smallest offering well and kindly parked next to a large puddle to allow us a couple of 'reflection shots'. The meet is always very relaxed and friendly, and although aimed at owners of classic and retro cars, is open to Ford's of any age. Tennants have a cafe and bar on site offering a reasonably priced breakfast or tea and cakes.

The Classic Ford Meet is always enjoyable as it's generally a more serious kind of enthusiast exhibiting, none of this crashed through Halfords, stickers all over, latest Fiesta that mummy and daddy have splashed out on for your 17th. We will certainly be looking forward to the next show in April 2017.
