This car was listed for sale in May 2024 with the following description:
"For sale is my ex retro Ford magazine staff car Mk1 fiesta. Although sad to see it go, it’s time to move it on to someone who will get proper use from it. Overall the car is in great condition and has had very little welding, 2 small patches in the floor appear to be the only places it’s been touched. The car had a full respray just before I bought it and looks fantastic, even with just a decent wash. It drives great and cruises well at 70 thanks to the longer legs of the eco gearbox. And it’s fast too!! It surprised many on a track day at Brands Hatch and ran in the high 14’s at Santa pod with a drag racing virgin at the wheel. In the first year of owning it, I drove it to numerous local shows, Kent to Sheffield then to Santa Pod then home again, did a track day at Brands and it was faultless. It was last MOT’d in 2017, but was started and driven every Christmas as a bit of a Boxing Day tradition. It will be a perfect car to smash this years shows with, then tinker with over the winter months. It has a couple of small bubbles under the paint, the worst being on the front wing where I believe it’s had an aerial deleted as you can see a pretty much perfect circle where it was. It does have one hole coming through at the back of the passenger sill that will need addressing. Other than that, the car could simply be improved upon as opposed to needing work. If I were keeping it, I’d buy a Colin Reay alloy radiator, tidy the bottom hose as although it works, it’s not the best and tidy the fan loom. As an added bonus, I now believe it’s tax and mot exempt. Overall, it’s a genuinely cracking car, that drives really well, is surprisingly quick, handles well and stops well too. It never fails to put a smile on my face and I’m 100% certain it will be the same for the new owner. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I have a full walk around video for those interested.
