Additional Information

Below: Owner Gary contacted us in February 2024 to let us know the following info:- This little beauty caught my eye last year, took a punt and bought it unseen after looking for something a little different. Spec is completely standard, as close to as it left the factory as you can get, even the spare wheel is an original tyre confirmed by the date code on the side wall, which is very close to its build date.
Owned by the same guy since 1988 who had it as part of his collection, who certainly knew how to store a vehicle. I was expecting a full strip down then I looked underneath only to find it has been extensively sprayed with waxoyl which has protected everything. All the running gear is still shiny black. I genuinely think he never took it out in the rain.
Built in December 1986, making it one of the first 1987 facelift models and registered in the middle of February from Andrew’s of Ealing in London to a lease company, then bought by the previous owner 18 months later.
Having been off the road since 2011 I was expecting some extensive work to get her back on the road, a simple service; oil, filters, plugs, distributor cap and rotor arm; a new tail light bulb for a blown brake light and she sailed through the MOT. The MOT tester said it was the only car he’d tested that day that didn’t have any advisories.
I’ve done some tidying up of the chrome work, new windscreen strips and chrome strip around the sides and bumpers and she looks factory fresh. I’ve sourced some new plastic body trim ready to be fitted as the one under the petrol cap has been bleached by petrol over the years. Some tidying up under the bonnet just a bit of cleaning required and she looks very tidy under there. Just sent the radiator fan cowling to the powder coaters as it’s the only thing I’ve found that’s rusty.
